Why I Love Being Irish

Hello there!
As you may or may not know, today is St.Patrick's Day, a national holiday in Ireland. So to mark this day where we celebrate all things Irish, I'm going to tell you why I'm very proud to call Ireland my home.

1. We Always Support our Teams
Although we aren't good at them all (Irish soccor team, I'm looking at you), we always come together to cheer on the lads (or girls!). We are well known for blaring out 'Óle Óle' or 'The Fields of Athenry' at games and getting all kitted out in the tricolour.I love how people who could otherwise despise eachother will come together to support their team and country.

2. We Have Breathtaking Scenery
Being an island with lots of greenery, it's no wonder we have such beautiful views just outside our windows (unless you live in the city that is!) There are so many beautiful places around the country from Galway bay to the Wicklow mountains, there is inspiration to be found all around us.

3. Our Nation's History is Fascinating
You may find this one boring but I think Ireland's history is just so interesting. We went through 800 years of British rule and then broke free under the leadership of so many great men and women
who gave their lives so that we could live in the peaceful country that us Irish call home. I can't think of any better reason to be a proud Irish citizen.

4. We Have The Best Amateur Sport in the World
The GAA. To many Irish, it is what they eat, sleep and breathe. Gaelic football and hurling are not only two fast paced, action pact games, but are sports that bring families, communities and counties together. I have seen people bleed, cry and jump for joy on a GAA pitch. In my opinion there is no other sport in the world with such passion involved. A footballer or hurler will give everything they have on that pitch so that they can see their team succeed. Why wouldn't you want to be involved in that?

5. Some of the Best Artists and Songs Come From our Small Country
From new artists like Hozier, Kodaline and Hudson Taylor to the classics such as U2, Sinéad O'Connor and Thin Lizzy, there is no denying that we know how to make a cracking tune (after all we have one the most Eurovision Song Contests!) There are so many influential artisits to look up to, it's no wonder we keep producing great talent. We can't forget the traditional Irish music aswell. There's nothing like a good trad group to put you in high spirits!

I hope you enjoyed this very Irish themed post. Have a great St.Patrick's Day whatever you're doing and may the luck of the Irish be with you... God all this Irish talk has gone to my head.

My Favourite Fashion and Makeup Looks

Hello!
I feel like doing a bit of a different post today so I'm going to talk about what I like both fashion and makeup wise. Fashion and beauty is something I have an interest in, just not a passion. I feel like a lot of people will relate to so I hope you get a few ideas from this.

Collars
I think my friends would agree that collars are a big part of my wardrobe. I think a collar can add both cuteness and a touch of class to an outfit and completely transform what you're wearing. Here is just one way I like to wear my collars:

       My Fashion
Skater Dresses
Now this is something I love to wear if I want to feel a bit girly. In Ireland, it's hard to go out in one of these unless you lair it with other items of clothing as it's so cold here most of the year. So when I do wear a skater dress, I usually lair it with tights, a pair of boots and a big oversized cardigan, like this:

Crop Tops
This piece of clothing is something I wouldn't wear on a daily basis, but when going out I always gravitate towards them. I love the way a crop top can emphasize the smallest part of your torso while skimming over the more curvilicious parts, if you know what I mean. I love to wear a crop top with a fun print, and then either high waisted jeans or black disco pants to go with it. This is one of my typical 'going out' outfits:

Red Lips
Onto makeup, and starting with another statement that I love to wear, a red lip. I think red lips can turn your makeup from 'meh' to magic. When I wear a red lipstick I feel so classy and sophisticated. Basically it makes me feel good inside and out. I especially like wearing a red lip with likttle to nothing else on my face, just the bare essentials, like this:

Nude Eyes:
My love for nude eye shadow came about when I got the Naked palette for my birthday from my lovely friends. Although some of the colours are a bit daring, every shadow in the palette can be made wearable which is what I love about it. My favourite combination is to put one of the shimmery colours like 'Sin' all over the eyelid and then put 'Buck' in the crease, simple but effective. Here is a picture of the Naked palette:

So there you have it, some of my favourite fashion and makeup items. Hope you enjoyed this different style post.

The Best Concert of My Life

Hey there!
I have mixed emotions while writing this post. I'm am overwhelmed, sad, greatful and so so happy all in one. This is because two weeks ago I went to the best concert of my life (so far). Myself and my bestest friend went to see The Coronas in the 3 Arena, Dublin  and oh my goodness gracious was it good.
First of all, we got front row standing after queuing outside in the cold for an hour and a half. (Word of advice: don't wear toms to a concert in February. You may be close to losing a toe from the baltic conditions. Thankfully all of mine are still intact.) It was so amazing to be in the front row of a concert as it was my first time and to be quite honest, it is the best view in the house. To see my favourite band literally five meters away from me was something to take your breath away. The whole thing felt like a dream.

I kept having these moments when I swear Danny (lead singer) was looking straight at me. I know your thinking I was only imagining it, but I swear he was. It was like we were singing the song together in an intimate moment even though there were 14,000 other people in the room. I really felt a connection, like he already knew who I was or something.

Now as I type this it still doesn't seem real but here is the biggest thing that happened that night: We caught Danny's tambourine!!!! He was using it during one of the songs and at the end he threw it into the crowd and we caught it. There was this moment when myself and my friend looked at each other as if to say "is this real life?!?" I could have cried

Every song that was played was like an anthem that I needed to scream out at the top of my lungs. Their final song was "San Diego Song" and I swear every member of the crowd was screeching it out. It felt like we were one voice, singing the same song with a band we all loved. It was a moment to remember.

Here are a few pictures from the gig. (I didn't take them myself as I decided to take in the concert rather than document it on camera.)

The boys mid-song. You could see they were giving it their all.

One last picture before leaving the stage.

So that was it. The most amazing, magical night so far this year. Those guys work so hard at what they do and deserve every bit of credit they get. So if you haven't already, go check them out! Hope you enjoyed.
